At Swordplay LA, athletic training, performance-driven movement, and disciplined practice forge students into confident pro wrestling performers.
Our Curriculum
Pro-wrestling is built on trust, control, and shared understanding. Training begins with foundational movement and partner awareness so students can develop precision, safety awareness, and collaborative performance skills before progressing to more advanced techniques and ring work. Throughout the program, students build athletic conditioning, balance, coordination, and body control while learning how to fall, roll, and prepare the body for impact safely. Classes also introduce the performance mindset of professional wrestling, exploring timing, storytelling, and character-driven action while developing the physical skills needed to execute movement confidently in the ring.
About Pro- Wrestling
Professional wrestling is a form of athletic performance that blends physical combat techniques with storytelling and live entertainment. Wrestlers use strength, conditioning, acrobatics, and precise choreography to perform dynamic matches that simulate competitive combat while prioritizing safety and cooperation between performers.
Matches are built around characters, rivalries, and dramatic storytelling, with athletes executing strikes, throws, grappling, and high-impact movements in a controlled and practiced way.

Meet the Coach
Swordplay LA’s pro- wrestling coach, Timothy Mauritz, has trained in professional wrestling since 2015. Over the course of his training, he has studied under multiple coaches. Most notably, he trained under WWE and TNA veteran Ken Anderson, developing a deep respect for professional standards, ring psychology, safety, and disciplined performance.
Beyond wrestling, Timothy brings over 20 years of live performance experience in Renaissance faires and circus productions. Two decades in high-intensity, audience-driven environments shaped his approach to timing, character development, improvisation, and collaborative storytelling.
He has wrestled numerous live shows and understands firsthand what it takes to perform under pressure. For him, wrestling is not just athleticism; it is timing, trust, collaboration, and narrative.
Timothy has been part of the Swordplay LA community for over four years, and this program reflects his respect for the studio’s standards and culture. Swordplay LA has long been defined by disciplined combat performance, and the addition of professional wrestling represents a natural evolution of that mission.
